Match Days


All managers are expected to sheet before the deadline set for that specific game.
Should a manager fail to sheet for whatever reason, their team will play that match using the 442T tactic.
If a manager fails to sheet for three consecutive games, he will be fired. This includes failing to sheet for any youth games also.

Positions

The major difference between AFM and other ESMS+ games is the inclusion of sides for each player.
Players will now appear as:

Players have sides they are good at, out of L(eft), R(ight) and C(entre). These are listed in the roster under "Prs"
(Prefers). So a player who can play Left or Centre has LC listed. Just Right will be R listed etc.
As you can see on the above, C_Marchena is a C defender, meaning his best position is centre back.
R_Braja is a midfielder who can play either on the (R)ight or in the (C)entre, making him more versatile than a centre mid alone.

In the team sheet, as well as a position (DF, DM, MF, AM, FW) you add the side they will play on (so DF's become DFL, DFR or DFC) and there is no specific limit to which sides folk play on (so you could have 3 DFL's).

As you can see, each player has their position indicated immediately after the def/mid/fwd.
Remember, you must add this once you have created your sheet, and you must also specify these positions amongst your subs!

When calculating player stats/contribution to the game, the engine checks for Balance: how well do your sides match
For each major location (DF, MF, FW), (with AM's and DM's counting as MF's) , balance is checked. The numbers on the L, R and C are compared. If there are unequal numbers of lefties and righties, a performance adjustment is calculated based on -25% * (difference in numbers/sum of numbers)

So with 1 Left and no right, adjust is -25% * (1/1) = -25%
With 3 L and 1 right, adjust is -25% * (2/4) = -12.5%
etc

If there are just 4+ centre guys and no left or right (eg DMC, MFC, MFC, MFC, AMC) then the adjust is a fixed -13%

This is done, as I mentioned, for DF, MF and FW, so there are potentially 3 adjusters, one for each major location.
These adjusters are applied to the major stat (Tk for DF, Ps for MF and Sh for FW) of all the players in the location
(so AMs and DMs only count as MFs and only their Ps will be affected)
These effects are noticeable! 25% off a 10 rated DF brings his (and all his DF colleagues!) down to 7.5 tackling.

The tactics used in AFM can be found on our forum, if you have any questions regarding them then dont hesitate to ask.

Player movements

The rules regarding moving players between your senior/youth sides and squad sizes are as follows:
Both teams must at no point have less than 16 players in their side. Should this happen, that team will be fined 500k per week untill they meet the minimum number.
Managers are free to move players between the two teams providing they meet the set rules for entry into the youth league.

Transfers

All deals are to be sent to the game admin with the subject containing both team names involved in the transfer. Admin will need to receive confirmation from both managers before the deal will be put through, so please make sure you do this as we will not chase up transfers!
Should any transfers look suspicious to the admin or any managers within the game, it will be posted on the forum for discussion.
Once a deal is confirmed by both managers, it can only be cancelled if both managers agree to it.
Transfers will be processed after the weeks games, should you confirm a transfer AFTER the weeks games have been processed, the deal will go through after the next set of games.

Loans

Loans can be put through at any time before the halfway point of the season and must last until EOS.
Once the midway point has passed, no more loans can go through.
Cash for loans is specifically not allowed.
Clauses for recall are allowed, but it is up to the managers involved to ensure they agree and stick to these. Admin will intervene if called upon, but would prefer for managers to be able to deal with this themselves.
Any loans must be confirmed in the same manner as transfers, and will be processed at the same time.

Free transfers

Should you wish to free transfer any of your players, please email the admin with the name of the player, and he will be added to the free transfer list.
Teams will recieve a set fee of 250k per player.

Auctions

Towards the end of the season, a selection of non-AFM players will be made available in a silent auction.
Each team can make two bids, for two seperate players. The team who bids the highest for a player wins him.
NOTE - You will only win one player, so should your first bid win you player x, your next bid will no longer count.

Youth player draw

After game 8 of the season, a random youth player draw will occur. Each team will be garenteed one of the players.
There will be a selection of positions, along with skill levels. You may end up with a potential star or a dead donkey, it is entirely random.

League Info

The bottom two teams of League 1 and the top two teams of League 2 will trade places EOS.
Prize money will be as follows:

League 1
Champions - 20 mil
Runners up - 16 mil
Third - 14 mil
fourth - 10 mil
fifth - 8 mil
sixth - 6 mil
Seventh - 4 mil
Eighth - 2 mil

League 2
Champions - 14 mil
Runners up - 12 mil
Third - 9 mil
Fourth - 7 mil
Fith - 6 mil
Sixth - 5 mil
Seventh - 3 mil
Eighth - 1.5 mil

League Cup Info

Prize money for the League Cup will be as follows:

Winners - 20 mil
Runners up - 15 mil
Losing semi-finalists - 8 mil
Losing Quarter-finalists - 4 mil
Losers of 1st round - 1.5 mil

Debt (IMPORTANT)

Debt in any shape or form will be treated with severly. Should any team fall into debt, they will be given one week to get themselves back in the clear. If they fail to do this, a player will be randomly selected from their squad and auctioned in a 24 hour auction.
You have all been warned, so please dont complain if this happens to you!

Youth League Info

Youth leagues will be played as competitive leagues, with promotion/relegation a possibility as with the main leagues.
Prize money will be as follows:

Third - 3 mil
Fourth - 2.5 mil
Fith - 2 mil
Sixth - 1.5 mil
Seventh - 1 mil

Youth League 2
Winners - 6 mil

Youth cup

Winners - 10 mil
Runners up - 7 mil
Losing semi-finalists - 4 mil

Failure to qualify from group stage - 500k

Youth Team Rules

Players can play in your youth team and enter youth competitions providing they meet the following rules:

Max age = 20. As soon as a player turns 21 (EOS) he will automatically be promoted to your senior team and no longer be elligible to play in your youth team.

Max main stat = 19.999 As soon as a player exceeds 19.999 and becomes 20 rated, he will automatically be promoted to your senior side and no longer be able to play in your youth team. The one exception to this rule will be goalkeepers, who can play in your youth team untill they overtake 21.999

You, as the manager will be responsible for full control of both your senior and youth team. Should you fail to sheet for your youth team, it will be treated in the same way as if you missed a senior sheet.

Youth players

Youth players (players aged 20 and under) improve in the following ways:

Youth players in the youth team;
All youth players who play in the youth team will gain abs in the standard way from playing games.
At the end of the season, a number of awards will be given to the players with the most tackles, passes and shots from your team. The award will be in the form off 250 abs to that players main stat.
All youth teams will recieve the three awards.

Youth players in the senior team;
All youth players who play for the senior team will gain abs in the standard way from playing games.
However, at the end of the season, all their kay saves, tackles, passes and shots will be multiplied by 10 and added to their relevant stats.

It is therfore extremely beneficial to play youth players in your first team.

IMPORTANT - For a player to be valid to recieve their x10 bonus, they must spend the WHOLE of the season in the first team, and cannot be moved back and forth.

Player awards

At the end of the season, the following awards will be given out:

Seniors

Senior top stopper - 500 sbs
Senior top shots on goal- 500 abs
Senior topkey passer - 500 abs
Senior top tackler - 500 abs

Senior runner up top stopper - 250abs
Senior runner up shots on goal - 250 abs
Senior runner up key passer- 250 abs
Senior runner up top tackler - 250 abs

NOTE - The top stopper award will be worked out using the equation; saves divided by goals.

Youths

Youth top scorer - 500abs
runner up - 250abs
Youth top assists - 500abs
Runner up -250abs
Youth top tackler - 500abs
Runner up - 250abs

There will be no rewards given out to goalkeepers

Leagues one and two will be awarded bonuses seperately.

Player Scouting

Each team has 3 scouts to use at the start of the season. To use a scout, email the admin and include the following details:

17-20
21-25
26-30
31 +

There is no fee for this process and, if required you can also include a required side in the scout request, also at no extra cost. There is however no garentee your scout will return with a player from that position.

Once the scout has been performed, you will receive an email containing the players details, along with the price that he is available for. You then have 7 days to respond with an answer as to whether you wish to buy him or not.
If you don't wish to buy him, or the 7 days passes, he will be made available to the AFM community and listed on the Auction area of the forum. All managers will then have the opportunity to purchase the player, with the winner being the manager that holds a bid for 24 hours.
You will NOT be permitted to bid on the player at this stage.

Player retirements

When the season finishes, all players in all teams will automatically be aged by one year. Once players reach a specific age, they will be retired from the game. The ages are:

Goalkeepers - 38 years old
Defenders - 36 years old
Midfielders - 36 years old
Forwards - 34 years old

To clarify, players will retire at the end of the season when they are aged to the above. So if you have a 37 year old keeper in your squad, he would retire at the end of this season when he would reach 38 years old.

Min/max player positions

To ensure we don't have outrageous results due to unrealistic tactics, the following rule is in place:

max def - 5

min def mid - 0
max def mid - 4

min mid - 1
max mid - 6

min att mid - 0
max att mid - 4

min fwd - 1
max fwd - 4

Should any manager make a deliberate attempt to bypass these rules, or make any attempt to misuse player positioning, the admin will respond accordingly with severe action as it is against the interest of the game.

Should any manager be unsure on what the roster means, or need help with submitting a sheet. Please get in touch with the admin/moderators on the forum and they will help guide you through the process, which can seem pretty daunting if you are doing this for the first time!
